Swords are your personal weapon in Defend Your Plushie! TD. While turrets automate mob clearing, you swing your sword at bosses and stragglers that survive the maze. Boss checkpoints gate progression — without enough melee DPS, you stall even with a perfect turret setup. S Tier — Nebula Sword

The Nebula Sword is the best melee weapon in the game, obtainable from sword crates with roughly a 5% drop rate. Its damage output lets top players shred checkpoint bosses during late-game wave 80+ pushes where boss HP scales dramatically. The low drop rate means most players will pull multiple crates before seeing one — budget accordingly and never gamble crate cash you need for turrets or blocks.

Nebula Sword — Rare gacha pull with roughly 5% drop rate from sword crates. Top-tier melee for endgame.

A Tier — Diamond Frozen Sword

The Diamond Frozen Sword is the practical A-tier choice seen on high-wave public servers. It deals strong boss damage and synergizes with Freeze Towers — when a boss is frozen, your sword swings land without risk and turrets continue firing. You do not need gacha luck to obtain it, making this the recommended sword target for players transitioning from mid-game to late-game content.

Diamond Frozen Sword — Powerful sword seen on high-wave servers. Excellent for boss DPS when paired with freeze turrets.

C Tier — Basic Sword

Every player begins with the Basic Sword. It supplements early turret damage when you manually swing at mobs in wave 1–15. Boss HP scales quickly, though, and the Basic Sword falls off around wave 25–30 unless you are actively farming checkpoints with turret-heavy builds. Treat it as a temporary tool — not an investment piece — and plan your first sword crate opening once your freeze-and-maze core is complete.

Sword vs Turret Priority

A common question: should I save for swords or turrets first? The answer depends on your wall. If normal mob waves kill your plushie, invest in turrets and blocks first. If mobs die easily but bosses timeout or take five minutes, shift cash toward sword crates and melee upgrades. Most players hit the boss wall around wave 35–50, which aligns with opening the first sword crate after buying a Freeze Tower and carbon choke points from our mid-game build.

Boss Fight Sword Technique

During checkpoint bosses, position yourself where the boss pauses after a freeze proc. Swing consistently rather than spam-clicking — the game rewards steady rhythm. When adds spawn, let turrets handle them and refocus on the boss the moment your freeze tower cycles. Crate Opening Strategy

1. Secure one Freeze Tower and a functional carbon maze before spending on crates.
2. Farm checkpoint bosses until you have 50,000+ Cash buffer beyond your next turret purchase.
3. Open crates in batches of three to five during shop restock windows.
4. Stop pulling once you obtain Diamond Frozen Sword unless pushing leaderboard ranks.
5. Chase Nebula Sword only during late-game farming when turret and block slots are maxed.

Sword Synergies with Blocks and Turrets

Swords do not exist in isolation. A long carbon block maze gives you time to walk alongside mobs and swing before they reach the plushie. Freeze Towers create safe windows for melee DPS on bosses. Flamethrower Turrets handle add waves while you focus fire on the boss entity. The full package comes together in the late-game build, where Nebula-tier swords, flamethrowers, and Admin Blocks define the highest wave records on the server.
